got back from best buy fullerton about half an hour ago. was 13th or so in line. came home with white 64 verizon ipad. one of the less popular models, i'm sure, but it's a relief to be home and not still standing in line at brea.

android is not a handset manufacturer. it just is a viral mobile platform supplier. it works for them for market share but low on maximum profitability. apple must be appreciated for what they are. Leaders. they did what everyone else was scared to do with smartphones (no stylus) and took the jump into a dead segment (tablets) and they went about it well and reaped the rewards. now johnny come lateley (goog) has come in with the "ours is almost as good but for FREE" and have roped in many marginally satisfied adopters. android's every success is a tribute to its forerunner and DADDY, apple, who still does it best and wont relinquish that fact ever because they Lead the entire industry in all things and they lead well. stop being so butthurt about it and raise your glass to the best. When you have 10,000 people packed into a small area for an event what more can you expect? The area is probably covered by one tower (or if you're lucky a few small cell sites in the venue).
Unfortunately extending and increasing capacity of cell service isn't as simple as setting up a wireless router. Takes a bit more work and planning than that. It's also hard in the US due to FCC regulations/state regulations/city regulations and high public opposition to new cell towers.

It would seem unusual to give a company with 10% of the revenue at least 35% rebate over a company with 90% of the revenue. This looks very much anti-competitive to me.
So are you saying that it would *not* look anti-competitive to you if the company already holding the lion's share of the market was on the receiving end of a generous price cut?
Who says Amazon is getting a better deal from the labels anyway? They could just be selling the tracks as loss leaders to drive more people to Amazon. The same basic approach helped turn Walmart into the biggest brick and mortar store in the world. Like I said before, loss leading is a common and legal retail tactic.

I just returned my black iPhone 4 32GB and exhanged it for a white 32GB. (thank god for the 30 day return policy). I also upgraded another 3GS to a 16GB iPhone 4.
Both the 16GB and 32GB are the same dimensions. But what I don't recall on the black iPhone 4 I had for 25 days that I immediately noticed on both of my white iPhone 4's is a small raised "lip" or ridge that goes completely around the front face of the iPhone. I don't have a black iPhone 4 anymore on hand to scrutinize this with, but I will comment on it tomorrow when I do.
But I think that this definitely accounts for this minimal difference. This ridge or lip raises the iPhone's glass off of a surface if it is placed face side down - presumably to prevent scratches. This lip is small enough to barely decipher any difference from a black iPhone 4, but enough that I noticed it within 5 minutes of using the phone.
Either way, my white iPhone 4 still fits in the credit card case I bought for my black iPhone 4, but it is a bit more "snug" and appears to not have as much protection or clearance as I had with the black iPhone 4... But the difference really is minimal, not something to make a big "stink" over.

The majority of the creative class uses pcs period. Software titles like Autocad, 3d Studio Max, Rhino etc. don’t even exist for the mac.
Not sure about 3d Studio or Rhino, but pretty sure Autocad is for engineers, not traditionally considered creative because engineering is bound by rules and laws of materials and physics, ( although some can be very original).

Actually apple often doesn't directly post changelogs for devs either. It's more a list of where they want you to test with many releases. They're kind of famous for that...

Mystikal: Irvine got some today, but I was the first person turned away, the person in front of me got the last ticket.
I called Mission Viejo today and they said to try again tomorrow. I think they are getting supplies in the afternoon, but holding them until the morning. My local Target (MV) said a week for theirs, but they only had less than 10 on opening day.
I'm going to try Irvine again tomorrow, but EARLIER this time! :) I'm still bummed I missed it by one today.

So, is this like the "Normal" view in Word? I was just mentioning to a MS fan last week that I don't understand why they call it "normal" when it hasn't been "normal" in 20 years.
Books come in pages. Notes come in pages. When I print what I type, it prints on pages. Why would I not want to type in a page layout mode? It seems much more natural to me. The other mode just make me think of the old monochrome screened computers. Not very natural.
I greatly agree on wanting to see the return of the WYSIWYG Font Menu. I'd also like to see a side bar as well laid out as ClarisWorks' was. Speaking of which, can we have arcs back? And those other great gradient options we had in CW?

Don't discount microsoft - they have money to lose for years in trying to get #1 for MP3 - slowly they creep up and overturn Apple - apple doesn't ahve the same stamina.

I think the whole point of confirming Zune this early is just this, create spin. A consumer, music product that is years away from making any impact is now first page news on Macrumors...again.
