I would wait. ...
2.4Ghz vs 2.0Ghz in the same line of processors isn't that big a CPU boost. the 2011 Mini will likely involve a move to Sandy Bridge which is a big CPU boost.
If the new mini gets sandy bridge it will be 50 percent faster then your machine at a minimum, more like 80 or 90 percent faster.

So the previous "beta" releases on the Mac were just alphas? Interesting. How long has Opera 8 been in the making? I am surprised that they're already releasing it, but maybe it just feels short.
*downloads Opera 8.00b1*

The first alpha was posted on Jan. 7, so I'm not sure that this is a "short" job or anything. Opera for Mac snapshots (http://snapshot.opera.com/mac/)
First significant bug - can't install skins anymore. However, I can log into VersionTracker now.

Considering it is the Dock and not The Dock, why does the title include 'the' in the first place?

How might one such as my self go about getting a dock like that?(black bar) and do you have a link to the icons?
You need Geektool and Mirage 2. Check this out:
http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=871944
you get there also the link for the icons.

Even if you could convert from the iPod, it wouldn't matter because you're dealing with the same compressed AAC file whether it's on the iPod or your computer.I like AAC,but then I have an iPod.I could hear artifacts of the compression with 128k mp3,I don't with 128k AAC. Extensive listening with headphones has yet to reveal a problem, even with stuff I had on CD and had listened to over a hundred times.

Ok, so im playing bad company 2 and im lagging and losing my badass k/d ratio. I get really pissed relieze how xbox's are crap and go play my gamecube which is infinitely better than xbox.
Anyway I only have 3 games for my gamecube so I want to go pick some up. I have played in years and wasent really that into it when I had it years ago.
So what games are cheap, around less than $15 used at gamestop and are actually good?
Thanks!

Yes.
Once you flash the card with the EBC firmware, and the desired disk on the card has been selected as the boot location in OS X, it will boot (array, JBOD, or pass through).
So I decided to go with the Areca 1880ix-12 since word on the internet :) is it outperforms the latest offerings from ATTO. Does it come with an 8088 cable as well to connect external storage solution or just the 8087 internal?
Also with this MaxConnect HDD adapter solution for 3rd pary RAID should I go with this one with no miniSAS cable:
MaxConnect BackPlane Attachment for Mac Pro [2010] Systems
4 pcs of MaxConnect RAID Attachment (4 Disk Drives)
2.5 inch Form Factor Disk Drive - SAS/SATA
3.5 inch Form Factor Disk Drive - SAS/SATA
Mounting Screws for the Disk Drive
Or this one with miniSAS:
MaxConnect BackPlane Attachment for Mac Pro [2010] Systems
4 pcs of MaxConnect RAID Attachment (4 Disk Drives)
2.5 inch Form Factor Disk Drive - SAS/SATA
3.5 inch Form Factor Disk Drive - SAS/SATA
Mounting Screws for the Disk Drive
MiniSAS Cable for the Controller
I presume the Areca controller already comes with an 8087 miniSAS to 4xSATA header cable, do I still need the miniSAS cable that MaxConnect are including in that latter package ? In general do you I need any other accessories besides the ones that come with this MaxConnect pack to connect my 4x SATA HDD's to the controller ?
As for flashing I'll take your advice and do it through firefox, the older version too and not the new 4 that just came out. So it's browser management\flashing utility is available irrespective of whether the card is flashed to EFI yet or not? Considering that it would by default be with BIOS I presume this to be the case?
Thanks..

They got their value out of Connectix in Virtual Server. Like it or not the Mac stuff was just the tip of the iceberg.
Also, Microsoft made its money not through Virtual PC, but through the Windows license that you had to buy with it. If you buy Parallels, or use Bootcamp, Microsoft loses a few dollars from the Virtual PC sale, but they still get a big chunk of money for the Windows license. I would say 75% of their revenue and 100% of their profit stay intact.

Hint: To do anything with a file, most operating system functions will want the complete path. That might be something like "/Users/freeme007/testFile" or "/Users/freeme007/Documents/testFile".
And for the times a complete path isn't needed, something called the working directory is used:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Working_directory
So how would you discover what the path of the program's current working directory is? Hint: NSFileManager has a method for it.
Next, how would you tell Xcode to use a specific working directory when running the program? Hint: Xcode has a Help menu with search capabilities. Try searching for working directory.

In the advent of "smarter" smartphones I see no need for portable systems (for me at least).
Nintendo and Sony should take note (with the Xperia Play it seems at least Sony* have already).
*SonyEricsson really.

I'm freakin sick of the ITMS.
I love iTunes and my iPod, but purchasing music that can only be put on an iPod is crap. There may be a better player out later which I want to go to and then *poof* my ITMS purchased tracks are crap.

It's (significantly) cheaper.
It's better.
'Nuff said.

Speaking as a T-Mobile customer, I would LOVE to have Apple working with them on the iPhone. :D
It would make sense in a way. T-Mobile doesn't cripple their phones, unlike most of the other carriers here in the US (That's largely why I left Verizon for T-Mobile a year or so ago). An uncrippled phone would mean an iPhone that actually works the way Apple envisions.

Where can I find firmware 4.3?
I found the website felixbruns which has all the firmwares, but which one do I pick?
iPad 2,1
iPad 2,2
iPad 2,3
I have a 16GB AT&T.
Thanks!
Look at the SHSH you have, it will tell you for what firmware they are. If you have SHSH for something else, they won't work on your iPad.
If you SHSHs are for ipad 2.2 them that is the firmware you need..and so on

I've repaired preferences - no go
I reverted iChat back to 1.0.1 - no go
Now, I've gone back to iChat AV - no go
Safari's internet preferences show "Downloads" is allocated folder for d/l's, and isn't locked (I can still get files from the 'net without a hassle).
Sod it - I'm baffled...

Is your sound volume muted or low?
- or -
System Preferences -> Network -> Show: Internal Modem -> Modem tab -> Sound: On
Checked this setting. It's checked next to "On". I even unchecked it and then checked it again. Nothing.

Hi, new to apple products here. Purchased the 4th gen ipod touch and I'm concerned about protecting the front and back. Would buying a zagg invisibleshield full body (front and back) and also pairing it with a hard candy street skin case work? Or do you think the zagg shield on the back would slip out when I try installing it into the case? Any feedback or advice is appreciated. Thanks

Hello All,
I'm pretty new to the Mac and was wondering how to change my background color to a solid color other than the few that are available by default. In Windows, in the absence of a desktop picture, I can specify pretty much any color to be the background color. All I see are the several swatches of color and no way to get more colors.
Are these background "colors" simply little pictures that are tiled? How do I get a true background color that's not already there? Any help appreciated.

My apple screen died today. It was one of the old displays. I bought a new one today (23in) and now I need a graphics card to run DVI. What is the best card for Dual G5 2.0ghz?
