I actually agree. Pull 'em. It may be censorship, but it's dangerous not to.
I strongly disagree. I often have to transport my infant during the evening hours on weekends and rely on a similar app to plot the safest route to my destination. I WANT to know which streets have been "sanitized" of drunk drivers just so I can take them. My cargo is too precious to risk otherwise. This app is for our SAFETY.

What's hard in the U.S. is that most people make a modest or poor salary--yet the culture is very materialistic and there is a lot of pressure to buy so many luxury goods and services. At least in third world countries, your friends aren't pressuring you to take extravagant vacations you can't afford or go out to expensive restaurants.
Sorta right here. However, I see it as companies advertising them as price/wallet friendly while still being able to look/feel good like the rich people.

Targeting is one thing. Successfully attacking is a completely different animal. They've been targeting OS X since it came out a decade ago. Successful attacks range from barely a blip on the radar to nonexistent, depending on how you define success. There's no reason to believe that attacks on IOS will be half as successful as the pitiful attacks on OS X.
Targeting isn't ever going to work if the users are aware of what an attack looks like. It's good that the system makes an attack as obvious as possible. Mac OS helps a lot in that regard but some users just never learn (blondes it's always the blondes who try and open attachments).
Not that anti virus helps after all it can't do anything unless they know of the attack as well. Having it installed just gives the user a reason to be complacent which is worse. It all comes down to training users.

Come on Mac Mini update; well overdue for a refresh. That Core 2 Duo is keeping me from buying.
Me too. I have a 2 year old Mini and while the current models look cool, they aren't a whole lot faster. I would also LOVE an SSD option although at this point I would be more than satisfied with a 7200 RPM option! (Can't believe that you still can only get 5400 RPM drives unless you get the server.)

I still don't understand why nobody has managed to make a viable alternative to Microsoft Office, esp. Microsoft Excel. Apple's iWork is fine, but clearly not enough and of course there is no Windows version. Google is too obsessed with the cloud and ad thing and didn't make Google Docs a local app for Windows / Mac / Smartphones with Dropbox like cloud capabilities. :(

This is my expectation. I am one customer who needs 8 cores for sure. I also expect to need 16 when they become available. Clovertown is not expected to be any longer than Kentsfield.
If you need 16 cores, shouldn't you get a rack with four Xserves (once the new Xserves with Intel-processors become available)?

Anyway, I think too much of the focus is on the technical details of this mysterious Airport Express box. I'm wondering if Apple's "Big New Thing" isn't so much the gadgets, but the notion of entertainment moving from being something you have shovelled to you from your cable/satellite guy, to a true a la carte system, delivered via the Internet.
What's interesting about the rumours are that they point at products and services that build an infrastructure for something, not products that are particularly interesting by themselves. I can stream media to TVs already (albeit with cables.) I can buy movies, hell, the pr0n industry has pretty much pioneered in this realm and made the concept provable. Less controvertially, there have been attempts to sell movies online serveral times over the last few years. These are all products that already exist.
Apple's products may well actually turn this into a general collection of concepts into a major new drive, in much the same way as DVDs have changed the way we watch TV, and DVRs, and, indeed, twenty-thirty years ago, cable and satellite did.
It'll be interesting to see if they succeed. Don't be surprised if most of the coverage after the event is negative. The real test will be in the coming years.

Since there are no formal announcements schedule. Apple will just bring down the store, and the new products will appear.
They've recently done this when they announced the Mac Book, and the updated iMac Core 2 Duo's...

Evolve is different than evolution. You can evolve in more ways than they show you on the little Ape to Man chart. Evolve is a word in the English language, specifically a verb, which means "to develop gradually".
So because they are poor, and haven't "developed", we should sit back and allow them to die, in order to thin out the human population? What makes the human race different from all the other animals is the ability for us to change our fate with tools. I would gather that if you were to take our technology away, say with an EMP, you would find that the people of Africa would have the skills to survive, while us Americans would suffer with our under developed hunting and gathering skills. Your view is way too narrow, and very American.

I don't think he is joking, it is about more than sales, but 100m songs on Itunes did make apple roughly 100M. So I think he is speaking solely about the moetary aspect of the Itunes sales. So no joke: money is money.

Kind of a huge gap, don'cha think? For an extra $100 I can nearly TRIPLE the capacity? Why would I even consider a 30 GB model?

I live in Nevada and honestly the cops spend more time Giving tickets out then doing real police work. Since the state has been financial hardship, The cops are out drumming up business. Honestly, do you think someone who is Drunk is going to be checking the app for the checkpoints? Its just an excuse to get rid of these apps from the store and increase revenue. Apple dont bend to the pressure, These apps do not break any rules for the App store and if you start letting the Government decide what should and shouldnt be, is the day I finally Jailbreak my Iphone.

They will probably base their design from Ericsson or another platform. LG does not develop the mobile plattform for their mobile phones - they buy them from Ericsson - then they design around it. It's faaaar to expensive to build mobile technology from ground up...
But - Apple has to innovate when it comes to integration and interaction with the phone AND of cource the design.
I'm buying one the second it's out.
A shame about scrapping the idea of a ground up design - I hope that doesn't lead to a lack of innovation. That's what really leads Apple along! Although if they just make a killer phone (I'm sure they will at some point...) it's bound to sell buckets loads!
